The Reality

Finding Treatment Shouldn't Be This Hard

Families searching for addiction treatment face overwhelming barriers. Bridge House removes every single one.

💰

Cost Is a Barrier Everywhere Else

Most rehab facilities charge $15,000-$50,000+ for treatment. If your loved one is uninsured or underinsured, options disappear fast. Bridge House serves those who cannot afford private treatment.

Short-Term Programs Don't Stick

28-day programs rarely lead to lasting recovery. Without time to rebuild life skills, employment, and stability, relapse rates remain high. Long-term residential care changes that equation.

😭

Women Have Even Fewer Options

Grace House is the only substance-use disorder treatment facility exclusively for women in Greater New Orleans. Pregnant women are prioritized for admission. There is literally nowhere else like this.

Our Proven Approach

A Three-Phase Path to Lasting Recovery

Our evidence-based, long-term residential model gives residents the time and structure they need to rebuild their lives completely.

1

Stabilization (ASAM 3.3)

The first 14-30 days focus on medical stabilization and intensive clinical services. Residents receive 20+ hours per week of medium-intensity treatment, including individual and group therapy. Staff observe and assess each person's needs without outside interference, creating a safe foundation for recovery.

2

Primary Treatment (ASAM 3.1)

Lower-intensity clinical services focusing on practical skill application. Residents build relapse prevention strategies, develop emotional regulation tools, and participate in structured individual and group therapy. This is where lasting behavioral change takes root.

3

Re-Entry & Transition

The final phase prepares residents for independent living through job seeking, vocational training, and education. Residents don't just get sober — they leave with the employment skills and life stability to stay sober for good.

Kevin Gardere

Chief Executive Officer, Bridge House / Grace House

Kevin knows what it's like to walk through the doors of Bridge House with nothing. Because he did it himself.

In April 2002, Kevin completed the Bridge House program as a resident. He rebuilt his life from the ground up, joined the organization's staff, and has served for over two decades — rising from managing major gifts in 2004 to Executive Director of Development in 2013, and CEO in December 2023.

A graduate of De La Salle High School and LSU, Kevin now leads the same organization that gave him a second chance at life. His journey is living proof that the program works.

"Recovery from addiction cannot be maintained without an individual's basic needs being met. That's why we don't just treat the addiction — we rebuild the whole person."

Why Bridge House

What Makes Our Program Different

🌱

Long-Term Residential Model

Our multi-phase program gives residents months — not weeks — to stabilize, heal, and build the skills needed for lasting sobriety. Short stays don't work for most people. Real change takes real time.

👥

No Financial Barriers

We serve the homeless, indigent, uninsured, underinsured, and unemployed. If you can't afford treatment elsewhere, Bridge House is here. Cost should never prevent someone from getting help.

👩

Only Women's Facility in Greater NOLA

Grace House is the only substance-use disorder treatment facility exclusively for women in the Greater New Orleans area. Pregnant women receive priority admission for safety and care.

💼

Employment & Life Skills Built In

Our Re-Entry phase includes job seeking, vocational training, and education. Residents don't just leave sober — they leave with employment prospects and independent living skills.

🏆

CARF Accredited Since 2013

CARF International accreditation means quality, transparency, and a commitment to the people we serve. Verified by independent review. Not self-reported claims — third-party validated.

🌟

12-Step + Clinical Integration

We combine Alcoholics Anonymous 12-Step methodology with clinical therapy — group sessions, individual counseling, case management, and family treatment when appropriate.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does treatment cost?
Bridge House / Grace House serves individuals who cannot afford private treatment. We accept the homeless, indigent, uninsured, underinsured, and unemployed. Financial barriers should never prevent someone from getting the help they need. Contact our admissions team to discuss your specific situation.
How long is the treatment program?
Our program is long-term residential, not a 28-day stay. The three-phase model starts with 14-30 days of stabilization, then moves through primary treatment and re-entry/transition. Total length depends on individual progress and needs. The goal is lasting recovery, not a quick fix.
Do you accept women? What about pregnant women?
Yes. Grace House is our facility specifically for women — and it's the only substance-use disorder treatment facility exclusively for women in Greater New Orleans. Pregnant women are given priority for admission to ensure both mother and child receive safe, supportive care.
What treatment approach do you use?
We integrate Alcoholics Anonymous 12-Step methodology with clinical therapy services including individual counseling, group therapy, case management, family treatment, and vocational development. Our ASAM-level care model ensures each resident receives the appropriate intensity of treatment for their stage of recovery.
